A Message from Brad
My name is Brad Puckett. I am a musician, singer, and songwriter who lives somewhere in the southern US. I have done a lot of cool stuff in front of a lot of great people, but none of that is important right now. This isn't really about the past. I am much more interested in where I am and what I am doing now.
I still live a majority of my life with a guitar in my hands. I wake up and play guitar before I go on about my day, much like I used to wake up early and play guitar for as long as I could before I had to go to school. I still finish up my day and look forward to playing guitar as soon as I can, much like I used to rush home from school in the afternoon to play guitar or rehearse with my band. You can still find me sitting in a chair or on the couch, playing guitar while I watch TV, constantly working on new riffs or new songs to go record. Guitar is not really something I do, it’s part of who I am. I sometimes dream up music ideas, guitar parts, and their instrument ideas, waking up anxious to capture them somehow.
I do not live in the past, I am grateful for all the awesome things that happened for me, but I now know that music will never make me rich and I certainly never really wanted to be famous. I just want to share with people what I do and hope they might find some joy in it. If you hear it, like it, and put in your playlist, perhaps you will enjoy it on your drive to the beach, by the pool or on the deck during a cookout, or even let it make your drive to work in heavy traffic more enjoyable. I will not be doing much marketing, I will not be pushing it in everyone’s face and begging for listens, and I won’t be all over social media hammering everyone I ever met with the same message about my music over and over again. In fact, quite the opposite. I don’t even have any social media, at least as of now. If you like it, awesome, tell a friend. If you don’t, that’s cool, too. Maybe the next person will.
Even this webpage is as simple and straightforward as I can make it.
Over the years, I have spent a lot of time learning how to record, mix, and produce music. Most of this was done through a lot of trial and error and continuous improvement by way of correcting mistakes. The method I have used for years is to identify songs I loved or thought were interesting and recording them, always trying out new and creative production and arrangement ideas. It has always been fun and especially productive to learning and mastering new production skills. I usually play all the instruments and do all the vocals, and sometimes they are hastily put together to capture a specific thing I was trying to master. But I usually post all of them here in case other people might find it interesting. Over the last 15 or so years I have done hundreds. So, by all means go check out my original music. But, also, feel free to check out some cover tunes.
Which leads me to…
